Came across this bound object at the North Finchley recycling dump today … it’s funny how thousands of formerly cherished and costly items are discarded yet this (with its added halloween face) was “saved” and displayed.

I sing with the amazing London Lucumi Choir, led by Daniela Rosselson de Armas. We sing songs from various Afro-Cuban genres, accompanied by percussion. Today’s percussionists were Collette Boardman, Bill Bland and Dave Pattman.

My cousin Susi has since solved the mystery for me. The graffiti is basically a Hebrew pun; the question mark symbol asks why? The word for why in Hebrew is lama. This is juxtaposed with a representation of a llama.
