I was walking in St.James’s Park one evening this week .. the light was fading and like everyone else around me I took some pictures of the cherry blossom. One of the images I like best is the one below which I took with my phone. I’ve fiddled with the clarity so that it looks … Read more
I love this stencil graffiti I saw years ago in Venice. I assume the figure on the left is male and adult, running (and leading?) the figure on the right, who I assume to be female … mainly because of a triangle at the side of her head which suggests long hair and a trapezoid … Read more
The other day I was in a tapas restaurant In London and saw a bottle with a fab label in their fridge. I had to photograph it (the arms are distorted but I wanted to keep the entire fan rather than crop the image) Here’s another sherry gypsy, a bit “Carmenesque”: The image above … Read more

I watch a lot of foreign language film and sometimes it’s the juxtaposition of subtitle and image that I … Read more
I spent the weekend up in Preston and Manchester, visiting Longridge, Goosnargh (I like the name!) and Knowle Green. Here are a couple of images I took over the weekend. They both contain moss and were taken in the region but otherwise they are very different! The text on the memorial struck both me and … Read more
My dad died 10 years ago today. Here’s a photo I took of him circa 1980 … his weekly ritual of washing the car!
Came across this bound object at the North Finchley recycling dump today … it’s funny how thousands of formerly cherished and costly items are discarded yet this (with its added halloween face) was “saved” and displayed.
